Create rich Golf Lesson Reviews for your students
Hi there,
Have you ever sent a student a Lesson Review and wished you an extra explanation to help them fix their problem?
Templates can help you
Let’s take the common scenario of the slicing golfer.
In addition to your Lesson or Swing Review you sent them, you might also want to explain the root cause to them.
They might strike it on the heel of their driver and need to understand Gear Effect.
Or they might just need to understand the path/face relationship better.
… or it might be an issue with their grip.
Inside Templates in Golf Coach App, you’ll find graphics and videos that you can use to explain these concepts to your students easily.
Create a video of these images, add your own face to the video and make it personal to your student.
YOUR STUDENTS WILL LOVE THIS!

Tour Player + Stats + Coach = Better Golf. Check it out
I had a fun chat with a young Tour player from South Africa Thabiso Ngcobo and his Coach Kyle Phelan on how they use his Golf Stats Coach data.
They identify areas in Thabo’s game to focus on and then put their efforts on corrective measures to improve on those very specific aspects of his game. Watch the video as I’m sure you’ll learn something you can apply with your own students.
Also, link up with your students via Golf Stats Coach and give them insights on their on course performances. It can be invaluable to them. Golf Stats Coach integrates with Golf Coach App.
Golf Stats Coach highlights the areas in a golfer’s game they need to work on to improve their golf game.

Golf Coaching vs Golf Teaching
Hi there,
A lot of what is offered as Online Coaching is actually just Online Teaching.
Let me show you the difference between the two and why it matters.
Teaching is when you distribute information to your students, like videos, books or any other content that teaches them techniques, swing theories, strategies etc.
It’s information without connecting that information to a specific problem.
What is Coaching then?
Golf Coaching works a lot like your GPS navigation app. The first thing the app does when you switch it on, is to figure out where you currently find yourself.
Only when it knows your current location can it give you directions to your destination.
It’s the same for your students’ golf games.
You have to understand where they currently find themselves and what the root cause of their problem is, before you can start taking action, fixing the problem and giving them directions.
This is why watching random videos about golf instruction is so ineffective in helping golfers play better golf.
Without analysis of the problem, how can a golfer know whether the remedy they are watching and then implementing, applies to them?
This is why we created Golf Coach App the way we did, since it enables Coaching as well as Teaching.
It's the most efficient way for students to learn and improve their games.
Students fill in their goals, giving you a sense of where they want to take their game
Data from their on course play sync through to their Coach via Golf Stats Coach
High quality videos with shot information give you an ability to give them great feedback
My Coaching Libary enables you to add a Teaching component to your Coaching
So keep in mind, your students are interested in going to their destination, help them get there through a combination of Coaching and Teaching.

What a 3 time European Tour winner can learn from his golf stats
Hi There,
Some golfers think that the top players in the world play perfect golf and are flawless.
It’s just not true.
They also have areas they need to work on to improve their games.
Let’s take a look at Golf Stats Coach data, 25 rounds, of this 3 time European Tour winner.
He has a scoring average of 70.04 over this period, is very good with Driving and Approach shots, with his Putting being his big weakness.
You cansee this from his Strokes Gained numbers below.
So let’s take a deeper dive into his Putting and look at his skill from different distances.
It is clear that he is pretty poor inside 12 feet, losing shots from every distance, except 9 feet.
So how does he perform on different breaks of putts from 12 feet and in?
About exactly the same on left to right and right to left putts.
He also misses both sides of the hole on left to right, right to left and straight putts. So no trends popping out here.
If we look at his performances over time, something interesting stands out though.
He tends to putt well or poorly a few rounds in a row. These also coincide with his tournaments and therefore his good performances all happen on the same greens. The same goes for his poor Putting performances.
So if I was this player’s Coach, which I’m not, I would start off by taking a look at:
His green reading process since it seems to me that he struggles on some types of greens
His ability to aim at his intended start line, since he misses both sides of the hole from short range
So this type of analysis then gives this player and his Coach, a great starting point to investigate ways of improving his Putting.
Do you know what you need to work on to improve your game?
Golf Stats Coach highlights the areas you need to work on to improve your golf game and best of all, your stats will sync through to your Coach each time you enter a round.

Martin

Use a Value Ladder to grow your Golf Coaching business
Hi there,
Let me tell you a story about pricing.
Many years ago I was Coaching at a golf club and struggling to get people to pay me for my golf lessons. Like most Coaches I only offered 1-on-1 30 minute and 1 hour lessons.
The most valuable thing I had to sell, 1-on-1 time with myself, was the only thing I was selling.
I then had a prominent businessman tell me the story of ice cream shops one day. It made an impression.
He said, "Ice cream shops have 45 flavors on offer to sell vanilla and chocolate."
This got me thinking.
I needed a line up of products or services, or value ladder to grow my business.
See the example of an online services business below.
Without even knowing what these services are, which service are you drawn to?
The Small of course for $149/mo. It's the "most popular", it's highlighted and compared to the $499/mo it looks like a great deal.
Now if this business only offered the Small service at $149/mo, they might have a hard time selling it.
It's a bit like offering 1-on-1 lessons as your only option.
So here are a couple more you can add to your value ladder this year.
Hybrid Coaching
Some in person, some online.
Schedule a 2 hour slot once a week and let all your students that are part of this program come out at the same time.
Not everybody will make it every week and not everybody will be there for 2 hours each week.
The rest of the time you Coach them online.
It's a lot easier to manage 10 or 15 students like this than you might think.
Charge a recurring monthly fee for this
Online Coaching
No doubt you have some students that just don't have any time to slot into your schedule.
Online Coaching is the perfect option for them.
Golf Coach App and Golf Stats Coach makes this really easy to do.
Add these services to your offering this year, I know it will make a difference to your business.
Till next time,
Martin

Engage your Students to help sell Online Golf Coaching
Hi there,
I speak to many Golf Coaches around the world on a weekly basis.
It's become apparent to me, that many Coaches are missing out on maximising their current Student/Coach relationships.
For most Coaches it starts and stops at exchanging time for money. There's a better way for both Coach and Student.
Coaches can add more value to their students, by coaching them online in between in-person lessons and helping them achieve better golf quicker, creating more satisfied students.
Coaches can generate significantly more revenue from their current student base, if they start coaching them online in between in-person lessons.
I understand that the rules of engagement for in-person lessons are clearly understood by Coaches and Students at this point in time, but Online Coaching? It's a little unclear to most Coaches.
So how do you start Coaching your students online?
It's called Student Engagement.
Communicate with your students in between lessons and add value to them. For the Coach/Student relationship to be strong, you need to communicate with them regularly and your interactions need to be valuable to them.
Let me show you how you can do this with Golf Coach App. It doesn't have to take a lot of time.
